I remember growing up and LOVING summer time. Not just because school was out, but because it seemed that there were always fun treats to be had in the freezer. Popsicle's and ice-cream were cool snacks we got to enjoy on those long summer nights.
I'm a little older now, but I still do love those cool refreshing treats. So, instead of filling the freezer with sugary, unhealthy snacks, I've decided to start making our own super healthy pops.
Smoothie Pops ~ A Super Healthy Treat
Just the other morning, while making some a morning smoothie, a great thought popped in my head..
What if I made up a healthy Popsicle out of a smoothie mixture?
I love enjoying a great tasting treat, but I don't want to worry about if it's packed with too many calories, sugar, or junk ingredients. It kind of takes the fun out of it if you know what I mean.
So I set about putting together an easy recipe that wasn't just healthy but tasted great too... and I think I accomplished that and then some.
Healthy Smoothie Pops
Ingredients
- 2 bananas sliced
- 2 cups frozen berries
- 1 scoop Daily C Protect Powder (optional)
- 2 Tbsp Chia Seeds
- 1 cup carrot juice
- 3 Tbsp Barlean's Pomegranate Blueberry Omega Swirl
- 1 cup Almond or Soy Milk
- 1 cup fresh spinach
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into a blender, starting with the liquids. Blend until smooth.
- Pour mixture into Popsicle molds and place in freezer for at least 4 hours.
